I purchased these gloves for skiing. However, whilst they are very suitable for walking they would be awful for skiing due to the huge battery that has to be connected into the top of the glove above the wrist. A fall on the slopes could possibly damage your wrist or worse!! Having said that they do warm up nicely and if the battery had been a flat, round type I would definitely have used them for skiing.
